Activair Air source heat pumps gain MCS accreditation!
Activair air source heat pumps have gained MCS accreditation after stringent testing and are now suitably listed as ‘approved products’.
MCS accredited products are eligible for a range of incentives including the current 'Renewable Heat Premium Payment' (RHPP)
and ultimately the ‘Renewable Heat Incentive’ expected to be in place by October 2012.
Activair has always been popular with households looking to achieve low cost heating and DHW to the home without having to make huge exceptions for install and purchase price as with other renewable technologies such as ground source heat pumps and solar.
Activair is one of the lowest priced renewable technologies available on the market today.
The RHPP incentive currently offers vouchers worth £850.00 on MCS accredited air source heat pump products (subject to T&Cs).
Current purchase price of an Activair 3kW is from around £850.00 (Exc VAT) meaning a large proportion of the purchase price of an Activair can be redeemed through application for RHPP.
The RHI expected next year will adopt a feed in tariff approach with payments made for every kW-hour of energy produced in the home. Still pending government clarification the original consultation document showed a tiered structure for repayment on an air source heat pump installation of 7.5p/kwh of energy produced.
